The brief
The Design Solution is an independent practice of architects and designers specialising in commercial planning and retail design, widely regarded as leading airport architects and retail designers. Their existing site needed a revamp that could carry a global project portfolio, client testimonials, news and the breadth of services from terminal planning through to travel retail and hospitality design.
What we did
We rebuilt the site on WordPress with a portfolio-first structure. Rather than throwing the existing site in the bin and starting again, we built on what already existed, adding custom code to realise the functionality required. The site layout was carefully designed to accommodate a comprehensive project portfolio categorised by service line. A custom news area was designed and build to allow TDS to present stories in the format they wanted, including provision for linking to press coverage.
The result
A refreshed web presence that matches the scale and quality of the practice's work, easier to browse on mobile, simpler to update when new terminals and retail programmes are completed and better aligned with how global clients evaluate design partners.
